1930’s Vintage Tudor Shock Resisting Army Watch

$3,300.00

A truly fascinating and exceptionally original early Army Watch Tudor, housed in a beautifully sculpted 30mm stainless steel case with elegant stepped lugs. The original silvered radium dial has aged gracefully and remains in remarkable condition, with perfectly matching original radium hands—a combination that is becoming increasingly difficult to find. In over a decade of collecting and handling vintage watches, this is one of the finest examples I’ve encountered.

The watch is powered by its original 17-jewel Tudor-signed movement, housed in a Tudor-signed case back and fitted with its original unsigned crown. It is paired with a quality vintage-style aftermarket leather strap that complements its period-correct appearance.

Interestingly, this watch carries no reference or serial number, which is not unusual on some very early Tudor productions. Based on the case design, movement, and dial, I believe it dates to the 1930s (possibly the late 1920s). While I have seen early Rolex models with a nearly identical case, I have not found any documented evidence confirming this watch was produced for the Canadian military market. That remains an interesting possibility rather than a verified fact. Early Tudor watches from this era are uncommon, and production records are limited.

Freshly serviced and running well, this is a rare opportunity to own a highly original pre-war Tudor that beautifully reflects the craftsmanship and character of the brand’s earliest years.

Please Note (Especially for New Collectors)

Before placing your order, please remember that most of our watches are authentic vintage timepieces from the 1920s–1990s. Although every watch is carefully serviced, we preserve as many original movement components as possible to maintain its authenticity. Because of this, vintage mechanical watches will not keep time as precisely as modern watches, and small daily time variations are completely normal.

If your priority is perfect timekeeping, we recommend purchasing a modern watch instead. Vintage watches are meant to be appreciated for their history, craftsmanship, originality, and character. not absolute accuracy.
