1969 Rolex Submariner 5513 Unpolished Unserviced Exceptional Original Owner Full Set
$45,000.00
We are proud to offer an exceptionally special 1969 Rolex Submariner reference 5513, acquired directly from its original owner. In almost 2 decade of collecting and handling vintage Rolex watches, I have rarely encountered a complete, untouched example like this.
The watch was originally sold by Magee's Jewelers in Manassas, Virginia, an American Rolex dealer, and the original sales documentation shows a purchase price of $172.84 in 1972. Because this watch was originally sold through the U.S. market, it retains the correct period American-market Rolex box and booklets.
What makes this example truly remarkable is the completeness of the set. Included are the original Submariner booklet, original price tag with the watch's serial number and price, Rolex "Auto-Lock Revolving Bezel – How It Works" booklet, original red Frog Foot tag, original packaging papers, and original anchor still preserved on its original paper packaging. something I have personally never encountered before.
Even the original case-back sticker, no longer attached to the watch, was carefully kept by the original owner and is included. The original spring bars are also present.
Exceptional Original Condition
The watch itself is completely unpolished and has never been serviced. The reference and serial numbers between the lugs remain visible and intact. The case was opened for the first time by us, revealing no service markings inside the case back. Remarkably, when inspected by our watchmaker, the watch was still running very well.
The original dial is virtually flawless, LIKE NEW with beautiful, even vintage patina and no issues. The original hands are exceptionally clean and beautifully preserved. The watch retains its original crystal and original crown, while the original bezel insert is in outstanding condition and features the correct long-5 configuration.
The bracelet is dated January 1970, making it an excellent and period-correct match for this 1969 Submariner.
This is not simply a vintage Rolex with a box and papers added over the years. Every component in this set belongs together and has remained with the watch since its original ownership. It is an extraordinary time capsule and one of the most complete, honest, and untouched Rolex Submariner 5513 examples we have ever offered.
An exceptional, original owner 1969 Rolex Submariner 5513 with an extraordinary complete set, untouched condition, and a level of originality that is increasingly difficult to find.
A Note for New Vintage Watch Collectors
We carefully authenticate and inspect every watch we offer. If a component truly requires replacement, we address it when necessary, but our priority is always to preserve as much originality as possible.
Vintage watches should be appreciated differently from modern watches. If your priority is absolute precision and modern-day performance, we encourage you to consider a modern timepiece. A vintage Rolex is about history, craftsmanship, originality, and preservation.
Think of it like owning a classic Porsche 993: even a beautifully preserved, low-mileage example will not necessarily perform exactly as it did when it first left the factory decades ago unless numerous original components are replaced. For collectors, however, those original components. and the history they carry; are often exactly what make the object so special.
