1960 Rolex Datejust 6605 Unpolished Exceptional and Remarkably Complete Collector's Set

Recently Serviced, Carefully Preserved

The movement was recently completely serviced by our watchmaker, ensuring that the watch is mechanically ready to be enjoyed.

However, during the service, we made a conscious decision to preserve as much of the watch's originality as possible.

For that reason, we decided to retain the original crystal.

The crystal shows some honest wear accumulated over the years, but it remains in very good overall condition. Rather than replacing it with a new crystal, we felt that keeping the original was the right decision for this particular watch. Its subtle signs of age beautifully complement the unpolished case and the warm patina of the dial, giving the entire watch a consistent and wonderfully authentic appearance.

It is these small details that give a truly original vintage watch its character.

Original Rolex Bracelet

The watch is fitted with its original Rolex Jubilee bracelet, dated 1962.

The bracelet remains an important part of the watch's story and contributes significantly to the overall appeal of this complete collector's set. Finding an early Datejust with a correct period Rolex bracelet is desirable; finding one preserved alongside its original documentation makes the package even more special.

The original green Rolex Datejust box is itself a wonderful surviving piece of the set.

The box is missing its original interior watch pillow/insert, something that is not unusual for Rolex boxes from this period. Many of these inserts disappeared over the decades, and the boxes were often repurposed by their owners for storing small personal items, including cigarettes or cigars.

Despite the missing insert, having the correct original period box accompanying the watch remains a significant and highly desirable part of this remarkably complete package.
