2 days reserve used to be the highest standard !

A beautiful example of postwar Swiss horology, this vintage LeCoultre travel alarm clock from the late 1940s combines elegant mid-century design with the mechanical craftsmanship for which Jaeger-LeCoultre is renowned.

The clock features a distinctive square dial with stylized Arabic numerals, its original luminous material, and original hands. The dial retains its authentic vintage character, beautifully complemented by the rose-gold-plated folding case.

After nearly eight decades, the case has developed a natural patina across its surfaces, giving the clock the warmth and character that only time can create. Its aged finish is a testament to its history and originality.

One particularly interesting detail is the circled number “2” at six o’clock. Unlike the later eight-day versions, this earlier model features a two-day power reserve, meaning it runs for approximately 48 hours when fully wound. This distinction makes it an interesting variation for collectors familiar with the more commonly encountered eight-day LeCoultre travel clocks.

The clock comes with its original presentation box and paperwork, making it an especially desirable find for collectors of vintage Jaeger-LeCoultre timepieces and mechanical travel clocks.

Everything works perfectly as it should, including the timekeeping and alarm functions.

A charming piece of vintage Swiss design, this LeCoultre travel alarm clock is equally suited to a collector’s desk, bedside table, or vintage horology collection. Its original components, complete accessories, rose-gold-plated case, and naturally developed patina make it a distinctive example of late-1940s craftsmanship.
