A beautiful 1970s Rolex ladies’ cocktail watch that perfectly combines Swiss watchmaking with Italian jewelry craftsmanship. Measuring just 17mm, the solid 14K gold case is framed by a genuine factory-set diamond bezel, while the original integrated gold mesh bracelet gives the watch an exceptionally elegant and jewelry-like presence.

The watch is in very nice original condition. The case appears to have never been polished, retaining its original edges and proportions, with normal signs of wear consistent with its age. The crystal is exceptionally clean, and the original dial remains beautifully preserved. The factory-set diamonds are original to the watch, not later additions.

The Gold Mesh Bracelet

One of the most attractive features is the original 14K solid gold mesh bracelet, which remains completely intact.

Unlike a conventional rigid bracelet, this fine mesh construction naturally follows the shape of the wrist. It drapes and settles beautifully around the wrist, making the watch exceptionally comfortable to wear while giving it the appearance of a fine piece of jewelry.

The bracelet will comfortably fit approximately 7 to 7.25 inch wrists.

The Italian Connection

You may notice the “ITALY” marking on the clasp. This does not mean the watch is non-original or that the bracelet was added later.

During this period, Rolex used Italian jewelry manufacturers for the production of certain precious-metal cases and bracelets, particularly for its elegant ladies' and cocktail watches. Examples from the 1970s are documented with Rolex 14K cases marked “14K Italy” and bracelets specially made for Rolex by Italian jewelers.

Italy had an exceptional tradition of fine jewelry craftsmanship, making it a natural source for the intricate goldwork used on these pieces. The Italian manufacture is actually part of what makes these vintage Rolex jewelry watches so interesting.

Movement & Condition

The original Rolex mechanical movement has just been fully serviced and is currently running beautifully. For a watch from the 1970s, it is performing exceptionally well.

The original Rolex crown remains in place, and the watch retains its original dial, movement, case and bracelet. The factory diamond bezel is also original to the watch.

The watch will be accompanied by its original Rolex presentation box, making this an especially attractive and complete example.
